RiverCity Gothenburg - implementing social sustainability in 5 million m²
Sometimes you have to cross the creek to fetch water. Unaffected by the big headlines here at home, Gothenburg develops 5 million square meters along the Göta River in the center of the city under the vision "RiverCity". Unlike Oslo Fjordby, the municipality develops itself and actively uses the areas as a test bed for innovative solutions in all forms of sustainability, including participation, cheap housing. mobility and urban farming. The RiverCity Gothenburg vision lays out the blueprint for the development of Gothenburg. The project is a component of the West Swedish Package, the aim of which is to reinforce and expand the entire region.
